The annual RSPB Telegraph Nature of Farming Award celebrates the fantastic work that some farmers are doing for wildlife. The four finalists have now been chosen and Henry Edmunds at the Cholderton Estate in Hampshire has made it down to the last four. Please help him to win by voting now using the link below. It only takes a moment. Do read the pdf download of detailed information and you will see that Henry is totally dedicated to a wide range of wildlife on his farm.

Henry's 2,500 acre organic farm is partly in Wiltshire partly in Hampshire. He is a long-standing member of Butterfly Conservation and has done major work around his land to improve and create habitat for butterflies, moths and other wildlife including many priority species like the Duke of Burgundy, Brown Hairstreak and Adonis Blue. Over 530 moth species have been recorded on the estate and on one memorable night myself and Tim Norriss trapped 199 species by 1am when we packed up, and new species were still arriving all the time. Unfortunately we had no idea at the time how many we had seen otherwise we would have carried on!

Many thanks

Mike and Tim

I think it's time this one was bumped up the active list.

We voted for Henry weeks ago Mike; he certainly is one of the good guys. We need more of his sort in this country. :) J&G

Do you know who were on the panel that chose Henry, Mike?

Sorry Jean, no I don't - presumably details are on the RSPB website?
