Hello all.

We started mothing in 2011 because we needed a new challenge after many years of birdwatching.

The variety of moths we trap have been a real challenge at times, especially the micros and we hope this forum might help us with the more trickier ones.

We use an 25w Actinic Skinner trap and live in Harestock, Hampshire.

Geoff & Lin

Hi Geoff and Lin! (Apologies, I only just noticed this thread.) Hopefully the site will become a bit more active now that a few moths are on the wing. Andy

Hi Geoff & Lin. I recognise you from past posts - BGM maybe? There are some great characters who sometimes come on this site & they will be very skilled at helping you out. Great to see you. :D Jean & Graham

Thanks for the welcome, yes we did migrate from BGM which appears to have finally gone. We haven't trapped for a couple of weeks as we we've been on holiday.

Dear all,

I set up this forum a number of years ago as an antidote to BGM but in recent years have moved away to become active in the Facebook universe. Looking in again I see that there is very little activity so I wonder whether it is worthwhile continuing?

Facebook is a far more interactive and immediate environment these days: even if you don't use FB for its original use, there are multiple lepidoptera forums with active communities of experts. There is a very active Hantsmoths Facebook page, for one.

Mike

Hi Mike, you're scaring us again. For those of us who suspect Facebook sucks this is a comforting place to come. Having said that, it looks as though things are going that way. If you can bear to keep this site going there are some of us who will be for ever grateful.

Do you want us to canvass for more members?

Do you need contributions towards costs?

How does one go about maximum security on Facebook?

Roger

Have decided to use the Facebook forum now as this one seems to have run its course.
