Nationally scarce (Nb) in hedgerows and scrubland in southern England, predominantly coastal. In Hampshire recorded in 1999 from Roydon Wood and on the Isle of Wight near Ventnor in 1975. Wingspan male 3.2-4.9 mm, female 3.4-5.0 mm. Similar to E. angulifasciella, but smaller, with a fuscous collar. Larva mines leaves of Blackthorn.
