Notes: Local in deciduous woodland throughout much of Britain, north to the Lake District. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight there are scattered records in the south and north-east of the county, notably at Botley Wood, and around the coast of the Isle of Wight, but probably under-recorded generally. Since adults come to light only occasionally, more frequently recorded in the larval stage, when mines are relatively easy to find where they are present. Wingspan 6-7 mm. Larva mines leaves of Oak and Sweet Chestnut. The mines are described in the following link:
