Notes: Rare (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in woodland in England and Wales, with records north to Yorkshire, a priority species under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. In Hampshire very rare, reported in the past from the New Forest, Southampton and Botley, but recent records only from Roydon Woods HWT reserve in 1998 and Merritown Heath in 2015, and the only Isle of Wight record is from Brighstone Forest in 1978. Wingspan 14-17 mm. Larva feeds within fruit of Red Currant, Black Currant and Gooseberry, previously considered a commercial pest at times but unlikely nowadays.
