Notes: Local in barns, warehouses and granaries throughout much of southern Britain, with records north to southern Scotland. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight widespread and reasonably common in the south of the county. Wingspan 10-13 mm. Similar to M. crocicapitella, which see for differences. Larva feeds on woollen materials and refuse, and detritus in bird nests.
