Common where there are mature oak trees, throughout much of Britain, north to central Scotland. Widespread in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 7-8 mm. One of the more distinctive Bucculatrix species. Larva mines leaves of Oak, over-wintering as a pupa.
