Main: (Yponomeutidae / Yponomeutinae)
16.001 [B&F: 0424] Bird-cherry Ermine (Yponomeuta evonymella) (Linnaeus, 1758)

Notes: Common in woodland and scrub throughout much of the British Isles, more numerous in the north. In Hampshire fairly common and widespread, given that the foodplant is not native in Hampshire, and it has been suggested that most specimens taken in southern England are immigrants; very infrequently recorded on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 19-25 mm. Larva feeds on Bird Cherry, living gregariously within a silken web, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas.
