Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) and recorded only from woodland on chalky soils in parts of Hampshire and Kent. Very local and occasional in Hampshire, first recorded in 2001 when nine were trapped on The Moors Local Nature Reserve, Bishop's Waltham. Not recorded again until 2008, when an individual was recorded to light in the New Forest, with another the following year from Longstock in the Test valley. However, since 2020 this species has become regular in small numbers, the majority again from sites in the Test valley; the reason for this uptick in reports is not clear - it may previously have been a rare migrant from the continent which has now become established; it has not been recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 19-25 mm. Larva feeds on Spindle, living within a silken web.
