Nationally scarce (Na) in dry sandy areas, calcareous grassland and on shingle beaches in England, south-east of a line from Gibraltar Point to Portland Bill. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 15-21 mm. Larva mines leaves of Viper's-bugloss, living and feeding within a movable case; case length 12 mm.
