Nationally scarce (Nb) on open heathland and moorland throughout most of Britain, including Devon and Cornwall, but not south and east of a line from the Severn to Humber estuaries. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 12-14 mm. Day-flying. Larva feeds on dead leaves of Bilberry and decaying vegetable matter.
