28.001 [B&F: 0639] Bisigna procerella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

 

Notes: Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species). First taken on 16 July 1976 in a wood in Kent, since when it has been found in various other woodlands in the same county (MBGBI Vol 4 part 1). Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 11-13 mm. Larva feeds on lichens growing on Beech and Birch.
