Notes: Common in woodland, hedgerows and gardens throughout England and Wales. Widespread in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight, where often seen during the day in deciduous woodland in small numbers. Wingspan 18-21 mm. Day-flying, but may come to light. Unmistakable. Larva feeds within the bark of rotten wood.
