Notes: Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on downland and grassland in chalk and limestone districts, a priority species under the UK Biodiversity Action. Recent records in England are from the Isle of Wight and Kent, and in Ireland from Co. Clare and Co. Galway (MBGBI Vol 4 part 1). Recorded from Ventnor on the Isle of Wight in 1928 and re-located there in 1987, the only other record in the area is from Minstead, south Hampshire, in 1969. Wingspan 14-16 mm. The most likely confusion species is A. heracliana, which see for differences. Larva feeds on Burnet-saxifrage, living between leaves spun together with silk.
