Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in damp grassland, scrub and woodland edges. The two main strongholds of this species in Britain are south-east of a line from Hampshire to The Wash, and the Highlands of Scotland (MBGBI Vol 4 part 2); also recorded from the Burren in Ireland. In Hampshire, there is a single record from Southampton, made by Dr D.J.L. Agassiz. Not recorded on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 9-10 mm. Larva feeds on Marsh Pea (England) and Bitter Vetchling (Scotland), living within a spun or rolled leaf, over-wintering as a pupa.
