Nationally scarce (Nb) in oak woodland in parts of southern England, north to Yorkshire. In Hampshire extremely uncommon, usually with no more than a single annual record, mainly in the south, and often at light traps in gardens. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 11-13 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on mosses growing on Oak.
