Extinct in the British Isles, this species is known only from seven examples collected in 1972 and 1973, all from Chippenham Fen NNR, Cambridgeshire (MBGBI Vol 4 part 2). Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 10-13 mm. The few British specimens known to date closely resemble typical dark
S. acuminatella. Larva mines leaves of Marsh Thistle, Greater Knapweed and White Butterbur.
