Notes: Nationally scarce (Nb) in dry grassland in Wales and southern England, and in scattered localities as far north as Kincardineshire (MBGBI Vol 4 part 2). In Hampshire discontinuously distributed, mainly in the south of the county, where known from Winchester, Sparsholt, Botley Wood, Portsdown, Southsea, Oxenbourne and QE2 CP; in the north of the county recorded only from Shortheath Common and Stockbridge Down. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight since 1939. Wingspan 10-11 mm. Larva feeds on seeds of Wild Marjoram, living within a movable case, over-wintering as a pupa.
