Local in waste ground, woodland clearings, heaths and roadside verges throughout much of Britain, but not in southern Wales. In Hampshire very local, perhaps overlooked. Recorded for the first time on the Isle of Wight in 2011, at five widely separated locations. Wingspan 14-18 mm. Larva feeds on Rosebay Willowherb and Broad-leaved Willowherb, living between leaves spun together with silk.
