Notes: Local in woodland throughout the British Isles, but not in northern Scotland. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight found in mature woodland and widely distributed in such habitat. Wingspan male 19-25 mm, female 24-30 mm. The large size and distinctive olive-brown markings are characteristic of this species [Bradley]. Larva feeds on various deciduous trees and shrubs, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
