Notes: Local in hedgerows and scrubland throughout much of England and Wales. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight restricted largely to Portsmouth and the extreme western end of the Island. Wingspan 12-15 mm. The small size and dark fuscous-brown coloration of both fore- and hindwings are characteristic [Bradley]. Larva feeds on shoots of Hawthorn and Blackthorn, living between shoots spun together with silk.
