Main: (Tortricidae / Olethreutinae)
49.368 [B&F: 1236a] Pammene herrichiana (Heinemann, 1854)

Notes: Nationally scarce (Na) in woodland in parts of southern England, but extent of true distribution not known owing to confusion with P. fasciana. In Hampshire very occasionally captured in both vice-counties. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 13-17 mm. Similar to, but darker than, P. fasciana, with which formerly considered conspecific. It is unlikely that records of this species will be accepted unless the specimen is retained for examination. Larva feeds within fruit of Beech, over-wintering in a cocoon.
