Notes: Common in a wide range of habitats throughout most of Britain, south of the Scottish Highlands. Common across much of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 16-18 mm. Similar to Eudonia mercurella, but that species has slightly narrower, more pointed forewing, is usually darker coloured, and subterminal line is not interrupted [Goater]. Larva feeds on various mosses, often on walls and tree trunks.
