In its native North America this species has the vernacular name of Spotted Peppergrass Moth and is found from Massachusetts to Florida, west to Texas and north to Ontario. The larvae feed on the leaves of Lepidium species, Thlaspi arvense and cabbage. Having presumably been brought in with imported foodstuffs, one was found in Southampton in 1997.
