Notes: Local on heathland throughout Britain, apart from northern Scotland. Fairly common in Hampshire in the New Forest and on the north-eastern heaths, but rather uncommon elsewhere in the county and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 22-28 mm. Recognised by the combination of plumbeous coloration, pale first line and small black scale-tuft [Goater]. Larva feeds on Heather, Heath Milkwort and Wild Thyme.
