Notes: Nationally scarce (Nb) on saltmarshes and waste ground in parts of south-eastern England. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight most records are from near the coast and east of Southampton, with a scattering inland in the county and on the Island. Wingspan 18-22 mm. Most easily recognised by the presence of dark blotch on dorsum basal to first line, and pale, dentate cross-lines [Goater]. Larva feeds on Orache and Goosefoot.
