Notes: Nationally scarce (Na) on damp heathland and mosses in parts of England and Wales, more numerous in the south. In Hampshire widespread in the bogs of the New Forest in the vicinity of the foodplant, but not reported recently from north-eastern Hampshire. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 11-13 mm. The moth is easily disturbed in daytime, and flies naturally just before dusk. Larva feeds on leaves of Round-leaved Sundew.
