Main: (Pterophoridae / Pterophorinae)
45.015 [B&F: 1508f] Scarce Plume (Stenoptilia inopinata) Bigot & Picard, 2002

Notes: One of a number of externally (and in some ways, internally) almost identical continental Stenoptilia species, a paratype of the present species from Canterbury, Kent was cited by Gibeaux in 1985 but its status is uncertain. It is unclear therefore why this species has been given an entry in the revised British List issued in 2014. Colin Plant in his British Plume Moths of 2011 makes no more than a passing reference to it as being part of a 'difficult' clade including S. bipunctidactyla.
