57.0021 [B&F: 1535] Oberthür's Grizzled Skipper (Pyrgus armoricanus) (Oberthür, 1910)

 

Notes: Local in flower meadows, south-facing hillsides and grassy slopes; 50-1700 m throughout much of mainland Europe. Found in Norfolk in the 1860s, where accidentally introduced in plants from the continent. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 30 mm. Larva feeds on Common Rock-rose, Creeping Cinquefoil and Wild Strawberry.
