Notes: Common in woodland edges, gardens, parks and hedgerows; 0-400 m (0-1900 m in Europe) throughout much of southern England and Ireland; mainland Europe and Fennoscandia. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight widespread and common. Wingspan 26-34 mm. Larva feeds on Holly, Ivy, Gorse, Dogwood, Spindle and Alder Buckthorn.
