Main: (Drepanidae / Thyatirinae)
65.011 [B&F: 1655] Poplar Lutestring (Tethea or) ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Notes: Local in broad-leaved woodland throughout much of southern England and Wales; also in Ireland and Scotland, where represented by different subspecies. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight clearly much more local than Figure of Eighty, but found wherever Aspen is established. Wingspan 38-43 mm. The most likely confusion species is Figure of Eighty T. ocularis, which see for differences. Larva feeds on Aspen, over-wintering as a pupa.
