Local in broad-leaved woodland, hedgerows, damp grassland and gardens throughout much of England and Wales. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight fairly common, though less so than in former times, in all three vice-counties. Wingspan 29-33 mm. Similar to Lesser Cream Wave S. immutata, but larger. Larva feeds on Bedstraw, Woodruff and Bush Vetch.
