Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in produce from central and southern Europe. Four larvae of this species were discovered among coconut fibre at Durham in 1927. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 19-21 mm. Larva feeds on dry and decaying vegetable matter, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
