Common in parks, gardens, hedgerows, scrubland and woodland throughout the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight common and widespread. Wingspan 17-21 mm. Unmistakable, but green coloration may fade, when sinuate apical border to central band is a helpful character. Larva feeds on flowers of Apple, Pear, Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Wild Cherry and Japanese Cherry, over-wintering as an egg.
