Extinct in the British Isles, formerly in dry open areas and on embankments in south-east England, where last recorded in Essex in 1914, previously not uncommon near Stowmarket in Suffolk and elsewhere in East Anglia, also known from northern-central Scotland. Wingspan 26-30 mm. Day-flying. Larva fed on Broom and over-wintered as a pupa.
