Notes: Common in broad-leaved, often damp, woodland throughout much of the British Isles; frequently recorded and well distributed across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 30-35 mm. The main confusion species is Common White Wave C. pusaria, in which the cross-lines are straight and grey. Larva feeds on Goat Willow, Grey Willow, Aspen and Poplar, over-wintering as a pupa.
