Notes: Local in broad-leaved woodland and plantations throughout much of southern England and Wales. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight has increased from the mid 1980s onwards; after failing to appear in the county between 1971 and 1985, the species is now widespread across much of the county and on the Island. Wingspan 28-36 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on lichens growing on Oak, Birch, Beech, European Larch, Norway Spruce and various trees, over-wintering as a pupa.
