Notes: Common in marshes, river-banks, damp woodland and damp grassland throughout most of Britain, but absent from northern Scotland. Widespread and moderately common in Hampshire, but very scarce on the Isle of Wight, where not seen since 1900. Wingspan 30-38 mm. Larva feeds on grasses such as Reed Canary-grass and Wavy Hair-grass.
