73.144 [B&F: 2350] Small Wainscot (Denticucullus pygmina) (Haworth, 1809)

Notes: Common in fens, marshes, river-banks, damp woodland and gardens throughout the British Isles. Locally common in marshes in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight, with occasional wanderers appearing at light elsewhere. Wingspan 22-25 mm. Small size and dark suffusion on veins make this an easy species to recognise. Larva feeds on Lesser Pond-sedge, Glaucous Sedge, Rough Meadow-grass and other grasses.
