Notes: Nationally scarce (Nb) in the East Anglian fens and near the coast from Norfolk to Essex; there are also isolated colonies in east Kent, Sussex and Hampshire, and old records from Dorset and the marshes of Somerset. In Hampshire the isolated colony in Emer Bog has been known for many years and still persists, but very rare elsewhere in the county; recorded for the first time in north Hampshire at Winchfield in July 2006. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 27-30 mm. Larva feeds on Hairy Wood-rush, Field Wood-rush and Sedge.
