A South American species, native to Chile and Argentina. Larvae were found at Tregwainton Garden, Penzance 22nd September 2020; it has since been recorded in the Lost Gardens of Heligan near Mevagissy and about two dozen other sites in Cornwall. It creates a mine in the leaf of Chilean Myrtle Luma apiculata and possibly other Myrtaceae (Heckford, Beaven and Lees, 2022 in Ent Gaz 73: 193-218).
