A rare Red Data Book species, breeding on heathland in Breckland, and on sand-dunes in the Aldeburgh-Thorpeness area. Also appearing as an immigrant from mainland Europe in southern England from the Wash to Cornwall. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight there have been just three records to date, all in August, at Christchurch in 1994, Lymington in 2008, and Totland in 2009. Wingspan 20-23 mm. Fairly unmistakable. Larva feeds on White Clover, Red Clover, Lucerne, Bindweed, Vetch and Wild Thyme.
